Overview: The Fit Yummy
Mummy system by Holly Rigsby despite the cutesy name is a serious 16 week program
for mothers who want to get into shape after their
pregnancy. After looking over the
diet plan and trying some of the exercises we have no doubt Fit Yummy
Mummy would work for anyone with a busy
lifestyle.
Holly Rigsby is a certified personal trainer and
also has her master of arts in teaching so she comes well qualified. More importantly she is
a mother to a 6 year old and understands the juggling act most moms have to perform between
taking care of kids, house, career and the desire to be fit.
The basic edition of Fit Yummy Mummy is a 110
pages long and comes in 4 sections.
1. Getting
Started - The first section is a bit of a pep talk. Holly Rigsby in her own down to
earth style goes over what to expect with the system, how to set goals and how to prepare
mentally for what you are about to go through to keep you on track.
Holly stresses the fact you must be in
the right "mindset" for getting in shape and has you
write down a "personal commitment contract" to yourself.
2. Supportive
Nutritional Plan – In this section you learn you will be going through a different
nutritional phase each week for 4 weeks. 1)Preparation phase 2)Application phase 3)Supercharge
phase 4) Troubleshoot phase.
Each phase
is clearly laid out and you will cycle through each one 4 times over the 16 week
program.
All the meals are well balanced and reasonable to
prepare. Each meal consists of a lean protein source, vegetables or fruits, and a small
portion of whole grains
The nutritional phases introduce you to a
few key habits each week for a "Fit and Yummy Lifestyle". The
idea here is to learn healthy habbits over the 16 week program that will stay
with you for the rest of
your life.
There is also a
"create-a-meal planner" to help you prepare each meal. The only draw back we see is that you
are expected to eat every 3 hours.
3. Fit Yummy Mummy
Workouts – The exercise portion of the program can be done at home and consists of a
total of 90 minutes per week. You have the option to break the workouts into three,
30 minutes sessions or do six, 15 minute sessions a week. This type of workout
schedule is unique in a diet exercise program and gives a lot of flexibility
for a busy mom.
The exercise program in Fit Yummy Mummy offers you four different levels of difficultly depending
on your current level of fitness.
Workouts consist of quick burst resistance
training using mainly your body weight and interval training for cardio. Beginners do not
need to worry as all this is thoroughly explained in Fit Yummy Mummy using both descriptions
and pictures.
4. Busy Mom’s
Fat Loss Companion – This last section of Fit Yummy
Mummy includes tools and resources to help you succeed such as a fitness journal
template, menu templates and sample shopping lists. There is also an exercise
library that illustrates all the exercises that Holly Rigsby has given you in the
program.
Fit Yummy Mummy comes with a lot of bonuses and this is where we
have seen criticism of the program in the blogs and fitness forums. The bonuses do contain
some good information however the over all consensus is the bonuses make the program
overwhelming and cluttered. In two words - information overload. Our advice is to put the
bonuses aside till you are comfortable with the core program.
Fit Yummy Mummy also gives you an option to upgrade to a video and
audio deluxe edition for an additional $17.05 for a total of $57.00. Though the videos are
small and sometimes the audio is a bit soft (turn your speakers up), they do help you
quickly get up to speed using the program. There is a lot of information packed into the
deluxe edition for Fit Yummy Mummy.
Here's what included with the deluxe edition
upgrade:
1) Videos of the first 8 weeks of the
Fit Yummy Mummy Introductory & Beginner Workouts
performed by Holly Rigsby (350 minutes)
2) The Top Secrets of Fat Burning Exercise for
Moms:

Nutrition for Moms: Audio Interview with Holly Rigsby (60
minutes)
4) "Mom’s Time Management Guidelines – The #1 Secret

training advisor to Oxygen Magazine (30 page pdf)

$9.00 a month. There is no harm in trying it out as you cancel right at the

Over all the Fit
Yummy Mummy is a solid diet and fitness 16 week program for any mom with a hectic schedule
looking to get back into shape. The program stands out because of the flexibility of the workout
schedule and its well balanced nutritional approach.
The drawbacks are Holly Rigsby tries
to pack so much into one program that is can feel overwhelming.
That being said from our research we
can not ignore the fact Holly Rigsby's Fit Yummy Mummy has received positive
feedback by mothers and women alike in fitness forums and blogs.
In conclusion we
give Fit Yummy Mummy 4 stars for women who are looking to lose weight and
get in shape after a pregnancy.
Always consult your physician before starting this or any weight loss
program.
